Formerly known as the Outdoor & Federal Territory Climbing Association (PMKLWP) and has now changed its name to the Kuala Lumpur Climbing Association (PMKL) and is the oldest climbing association in the Federal Territory and was the last association established by the late Nur Ramlee Sulaiman who was also the former leader of the Mount Everest Climbing Expedition in 1997.
It was established before the Rakan Muda carnival of the East Malaysia Zone IPT sector. The participants and sponsors of the establishment of the Climbing association were also the first participants to learn Wall Sport Climbing and were recognized as Grade 3 Movers by the Malaysian Climbing Federation according to the UIAA (Union International Alpine Association) syllabus.
